Getting In

Dallas Academy image2

All prospective cosmetology students are required to complete a Career Planning Session with the Director of Admissions. The Career Planning Session is a great way to understand the Academy's expectations of its students and the prospective cosmetology student's expectations of the Academy. After a breif interview, prospective students tour the facility.

Prospective cosmetology students must take and pass an entrance exam as prescribed by the Department of Education.  Once accepted, the student and Academy agree upon an enrollment date. The student signs the enrollment agreement and pays the registration fee. A state issued I.D., high school diploma or equivalent, and birth certificate or social security card are mandatory for the registration process.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Upon meeting entrance and registration requirements, applicants may enroll in the TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy Basic Hairdressing / Cosmetology program. Cosmetology students must be a minimum of 17 years of age to enroll. Cosmetology program applicants will not be denied admission on the basis of race, sex, age, religious preference, national origin, martial status or handicap.

TRANSFER STUDENTS

TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy does not currently accept transfer students from other cosmetology schools or beauty schools.

Tuition

Dallas Academy

Tuition and fees are the responsibility of the student. All tuition is due on the 1st of every month, with the exception of the first payment, which is to be made on or before the first day of school. Every student has until the 3rd to make payment; on the 4th, the amount due will be considered late and a late fee in the amount of $25 will be ***ed. Thereafter, a $5 daily late fee will accrue until payment including late fees is made. Should tuition not be paid as agreed upon, TONI GUY Hairdressing Academy may take corrective action up to and including termination.

Please contact the Academy for current tuition pricing.

A non-refundable re-registration fee of $100 (not considered tuition) will be required for any student requesting re-entry into the school.
As the contract is written for a specific time period, a student must complete the course within this time frame. If the student does not graduate within the time period agreed upon, additional training will be provided at a cost of:

Basic
$150 per day
Cosmetology

regardless of the student's absence or attendance, unless approved by the administration

The fees listed will be charged to the cosmetology student until the number of hours necessary to graduate has been attained.  The amount will apply up to 150% of the stated weekly course length.  Thereafter, the student will be terminated.

Materials and Equipment
Each cosmetology student at TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy must purchase a student kit as part of enrollment.  The items in the kit may be changed at any time, without notice to the student. Replacement items for the kit may be purchased through the school.  Other sources for the kit will not be considered, as all student kits are required to contain the same items, with equal value and quality.

Other Costs
Other costs are associated with the cosmetology program as necessary:  $25.00 for the state registration fee; $12.50 for the state written exam in English or Spanish, or $14.25 for the written exam in Vietnamese; and approximately $30.00 for the physical exam, payable to the physician's office.

Additionally, students may be required to purchase equipment and supplies required by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation Examination.  The Academy has made every effort to itemize the anticipated costs associated with the program.  However, the Academy does not claim that the costs listed will be the only expenses incurred by the cosmetology student.
TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy reserves the right to change tuition and fees for each cosmetology course as needed.  As TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy is an accredited school, financial aid is available for those who qualify.

The prospect/student will be refunded all monies paid to the school if:

Job Placement Services

Although TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy considers the success of its cosmetology programs as they relate to the individual student, we do not guarantee employment.  However, as part of preparing students for the professional world, the following services are available to individual students:

  • Job listings:  job listings are placed in a book for self-directed students to review.  This book is maintained in the Director of Admissions' office.  As opportunities are presented, they are placed in the book.
  • Interview Training and Resume Development:  recommendations are made to the students regarding information appearing on their resumes.  Interview training is also part of each curriculum.
  • Career Representatives:  the TONI&GUY Salon Division has representatives available monthly to conduct on-site interviews with students interested in becoming an employee of TONI&GUY Salon Division.  Other salon representatives are also available to speak with students regarding employment opportunities.  TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy does not guarantee employment to any student.  Students will undergo the same scrutiny for employment as any other candidate.  TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy does not discourage students from seeking employment in the industry with other salons or companies.

Student Kit

student kit

Professionals in every industry need the best tools if they are to function optimally. Hairdressing is no different, but quality equipment is expensive and may take years for a hairdresser to acquire. Most beginning hairdressers don’t have the money for quality tools and equipment, leaving them at a disadvantage.

Because of our strong commitment to educating professionals, we ensure that our students start with the best tools available to hairdressers by requiring the purchase of a TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy student kit as part of the enrollment process. As a cosmetology student at TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy you will use mannequins, styling tools, and other equipment daily. All of these items are included in our industry-leading student kits.

Your student kit includes all required books, professional quality tools, and mannequins. During our cosmetology program, you receive training on the safe and proper use of your tools and equipment. The modern and state-of-the-art equipment in your kit offers you an “edge” in your cosmetology training. Your student kit is a major investment in your career and one more advantage that TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy offers its students.
